It takes a special dynamic in a rod to reach those fish beyond normal casting range and then, in turn, create enough energy to drive the hooks home and bring that fish to the beach. Proprietary manufacturing technologies allow G. loomis to make their blanks with extremely dense laminates, increasing strength, sensitivity and most importantly... recovery-rate. "Recovery-rate" relates to the time it takes the rod, after being flexed (loaded) and cast (unloaded), to dampen and return to a straight position. This is paramount for distance because as a rod dampens, it wobbles. As line passes through the guides, this "wobble" creates line slap (friction) that reduces line-speed significantly. The faster a rod can recover, the less it wobbles, reducing the friction, and increasing casting distance. It s the major factor.
